Noam Chomsky | Born 1928
Undisclosed Amount – University of Arizona

In the world of linguistics, there is no name ever more cited apart from Ferdinand de Saussure than Noam Chomsky. He exerted a significant degree of influence in many aspects of language and politics and is the author of numerous books. Dubbed the Father of Modern Linguistics, Chomsky is still very much active despite his age. He is also a leading political commentator who has not held back when talking about his beliefs on capitalism, US foreign policy, and even imperialism. At age 88, he decided to become a Professor Laureate at the University of Arizona, after his long career as the Institute Professor Emeritus at MIT.

There are no specific details on where Chomsky resides, but he would be eligible to get a housing slot at the university as a faculty member. Housing rental at the University of Arizona is at $8,000, which would mean he gets that for free, or probably at a subsidized rate.
