Olivia de Havilland | Born 1916
Undisclosed Amount – Saratoga, California
While her father worked as a patent attorney, Olivia de Havilland undoubtedly inherited most – if not all – of her passions from her mother, a stage actress. Thanks to her mother’s help, de Havilland learned the ins and outs of acting at a very young age and eventually made her way to the entertainment industry. Since then, she has become most known for her work in films such as Captain Blood, Gone with the Wind, The Heiress, and The Snake Pit.
Before making quite a name for herself under the spotlight, de Havilland spent most of her childhood in this house in California, Saratoga. In a way, the house has since become a celebrity in its own right, thanks to its historical value. After living in the place for most of the ’20s, de Havilland and her family finally sold the home to a family friend in 1959.
